Not who - what were responsible. Money - and money is the way some ppl think they can buy other ppls love. As Tan says - don't judge ppl from others bad experience. I know I gave you the rough stories about how other ppl lost a lot of money and a lot of hope and dreams too.

Here, and/or other places, your better half may be looking for you. Don't forget about the horrorstories, but dont let them affect how you look at ppl. Most ppl are good and honest. But if a "girl" says she is in love with you after 2 letters (or even in the first, like I got today), then 99.99% scam (I do believe in luck :-) ). Dont write with more than a few girls at a time - it is time consuming to keep an ongoing conversation if you have a life beside this pursue for a life partner. And dont go a long distance if you are not looking for a life partner.

Men smell rats and scams - and women smell rats and dishonesty. You have to be on even playground to connect.
