 Transfer of Education Degree's from Russia???

I have been in corespondence with several ladies from Russia and most have very good degrees within their chosen fields of study. My question is how well do they transfer into the U.S. and for other reader's other nations. ie. Doctor, lawyer,engineer, accountant and nurses to name some examples.
