I offer to have this program started with the purpose of protecting us all from negative experiences in Internet. The New Dating team is deeply interested in all positive results from virtual acquaintance and communication leading to real life relationships. That is why we ask all users of our web site to share any experiences they might have or heard of. Open talk is aimed to help others avoid any further bad experiences, as we do not want New Dating members to be hurt neither in emotional nor in material sense. Everything that makes you feel alert should be neutralized and rendered harmless. If you got letters, which arouse your doubts or can hide other intentions than described by the author, please notify Administrator of the web (contact emails you can find at “About Us” page) or discuss this with other members openly. This will help us recognize if it’s really a red flag situation or probably you have just been too cautious, which is anyway far not bad. Any opinions, experiences or life stories you can tell are welcome to be published here.

Hi,

It's good to see a site trying hard to stop the scams. I've been 'looking' to meet someone from east europe over the internet for the last 6 months or so and you would not believe how many 'ladies' ask for money within two or three e-mails. It's got to the stage now where I don't take anyone who replies to me too seriously. I certainly don't send money to someone I have never met! Hopefully this site may be different - the web definately needs it.

Right on Kevin, I've met two darlings on line with the same story about a father wounded in Aghganistan, and having to scrape to the bone. I guess there's more than one guy wounded there, but it seems odd. My conversation never got past the first letter.
The scam must work though for them to be using it.
I also met one woman who wanted to work through an agency to whom I would pay a "translation fee". That never got anywhere either.
Isn't the Net and education though, and this site seems to be as sincere as can be in trying to run a tight ship, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the photos were of totally fictitious people, or if the other party weren't two guys with a laptop in the back of some beer joint.

hey, do you think Russian girls need you because you are so special? They need you for your money. Look at you and be realistic, 90% of the girls wouldn't never put themselves in such a quest if not the difficult material situation. Russian women do need your money, send a lot and get lost afterwards!

Hi everyone! Thanks for being willing to discuss this topic! Net really has much to offer although is not always transparent. We should take efforts together to make it better place. There are those who try to make use of people who only want to find their true friend or second half, and change their life. Let's think together what we can do in order to prevent bad experiences and frustration. If anyone has an idea or suggestion what we can do on our side to improve situation, we welcome your innitiative. Just share your thoughts here on our Forum or contact Admin directly.
For now in case you get a message that arouses your suspiscion or directly shows intentions opposite to frienly contact, please forward it to the Admin so that we could check it and take relevant measures.

Thanks to all!
Sincerely, Konstantin.

I think that Mr. Meqqqqqq (did I spell the name correctly?) is mistaken about the ratio and circumstances. Possibly he had too bad experience with one of those 20-year-old-blondes-with-legs-from-neck, who use effective appearance to suck your money out. But he is right when it refers to that that men should be realistic. Before writing, ask yourself what you are looking for? Cinderellas? Top models? Or true love? Also remember that professionaly made pictures (studio pictures) are often deceptive. A movie visagiste said: "If you only knew how many defects models had to retouch, you would never even look at them!"

You can make much efforts but you'll never stop scam while you, men, are sending money to girls. Believe me, no one here suffers form starvation and Afhgan war is far in past :) So take these tricks easy...

hi everyone, yes, scammers are a problem on the net but they are only a problem if you allow them to be such. these people prey on lonely and gullible men but if people would only use their head and be practical these scammers would soon be out of business. do not send any money to any woman and you will not be scammed, it really is that simple.

Hello ,
I was just looking over the forum here and decided to write my opinion on this topic.I have meet some very nice and sincere woman from Russia this year and have not had any problems with this.
You can get a feel on the woman that write to you from their first letters and of course some of the pictures they send to you seem to good to be true. I have had a few talk about how hard it is for them to pay for internet but this fact may be true for them. Having visited Russia myself ,I see that life can be hard for these woman. They dont seem to make a lot of money but they know how to stretch it out.I think American woman could learn from this :-)

Jerry: You're absolutely right, most of the women are very sincere, and the few who've said how expensive the Internet is were only telling the truth I'm sure. In some cases, I'd like to help out with their messaging. Is there a way this can be done?, sort of a collect message? Perhaps Kostya can help us here if he reads these messages.
I've been taken big time by some of my friends, and I think they did it because they had to. That kind of money comes back when you least expect it in my experience.

hi to all, i have visited russia three times and the internet is expensive for women, last year it was about $1-$2 to use an internet cafe, not much money to us guys in the west but its a lot when you consider how much money these women earn. of course theres nothing wrong with sending money to a woman to help with such things but you must use your judgement and trust your instincts and its better to send only a little money that you can afford to lose. do not be fooled by the requests for visas etc. i believe the vast majority of women are sincere but it only takes one bad apple.....
most scam operations are organised by just a few people posting many photos but if you use your head and common sense you will be ok.
anyone searching for a girl for marriage should first research all the scamming sites on the web which offer good advice, do not rush in blind, take your time and do your homework first, if you just show some patience then you will be better prepared

Wow wow wow
Sometimes it's so funny to read some of your discours. Where did you see a woman in an internet cafe, writing messages to men? Maybe 0,000001% of them. I find these talks of internet expenses odd at least. Most use it either at work or friend`s or home and the internet was never in the category of luxury goods. It can cost much if you browse hours every day but sending messages rather takes some seconds.

to Jerry: you are so sure that you can get a true feel on a woman from the first letter... I recall a story of 4 years ago when a friend of mine sent money for her tickets. I suppose she must be still flying to him... Do you think he had doubts that she wouldn't do?

Please understand, the problem is not that you can loose some money, just stop feeding parasites! I don't want men to make their general conclusion having just one bad experience.

I myself got to know about scam problem just now from this forum, now I understand why clever guys gave a call to women in 3 days after first letters. They just said they were impatient to hear the voice :)

One more comment about tickets. If you can't go yourslef but want your girl to visit you, buy tickets for her from your place. Air companies accept this. By the way, consulates advice people not to buy any tickets before they get a visa.

Best wishes to all,
Tatyana

Dear Natalia,

Here is the list of the recent scammers or potential
scammers that I discovered since November 28, 2003 to
present:

1. Sveta (Svetochka)
ID #: 9207
Email: sweet_girl@mail333.com
2. Polina
ID #: 7712
Email: Polina143@Yandex.ru
3. Elena19712
ID #: 10440
Email: elena19712@mail.ru
4. Natasha
ID #: 9711
Email: super_natashka@land.ru
5. Justina Raganskaite
ID #: 7045
Email: radiantdew@yahoo.co.uk
The scheme that I used to expose them is very simple:
For each of the above scammers, I communicate with
them by using my current email account. I describe to
them about my background and characteristics, and what
I look for in mate, a person with decency, high moral
and ethical values. They all replied to me in
subsequent emails indicating that they are all those
that I mentioned. Elena19712 added that she divorced
her husband due to the death of her daughter, and she
could not live with him any longer. Once I received
their letters expressing their sincerity, I used
another email account under different name to
communicate with them. In my first introduction letter
to them, I describe myself as a person with low life
characters. All I want from them is sex. In return,
they will handsomely reward with good time, drugs and
money. Can you guest what happen at this point? They
all competed with one another and sent nude pictures
of themselves to this fake account.
Since I became member at your site in the mid
December until present, I have been contacted on
average three to four ladies (or men pretending to be
ladies) a day from your site. My first strategy was a
little straight forward. After I received more than
three letters from them or after they expressed their
seriousness, I told them the truth that I am currently
using a reputable detective agency in Russia that has
the responsibility of checking the background of the
one that I plan to proceed further. I asked them to
give me their full name, address, and personal
identification. Do I need to tell you what happend
after they received the email? They all disappeared
permanently.
The internet dating is a multi-billion dollars
industry. It is a very competitive business. You must
do better in checking the background of all female
posters if you want to create a reputable agency, and
to remain in this business.
Attached in this email are some pictures of one of
them. Because you are female, I do not want to insult
you by sending pictures with extreme nature. My email
account allows me to attach only three items with each
email. Furthermore, I do not have time to do thing
that should be done by your agency. As you suggested
in the previous email, I shall post the contents of
this email in your forum so that others can learn from
it.

Sincerely,

Paul

Paul, I would greatly appreciate one additional piece of information which I consider absolutely critical in making a determination about the legitimacy of this website and the ladies who are members of it:
How many different women did you contact and perform this experiment with?

For me, this answer makes a big difference. If you only contacted these five women, and got the same results from each, then that is a very damning indictment of both this site and the ladies within it. On the other hand, if you contacted 50, or even only 20 women, and only these 5 proved to be scammers, then that makes me feel very good about the probability that most ladies who are members here are legitimate. It also strikes me that all the scammers you uncovered are 23 years old or younger--do you htink that the older women, say 24 and over, are over-whelmingly legitimate?

Thank-you for your very diligent and helpful work. And thank-you to Natalia and the owners of this site for doing the responsible thing and suggesting that Paul post this in the forum.

Any thoughtful and well-intentioned feedback is welcomed and encouraged. But that also means that Light and others should keep their childish insults out of this--for those of us who are truly looking for our life's ideal partner, this is very serious business, and for mature, emotionally healthy participants only.

Sincerely, David

Dear our Sherlock Holmes!

I have no idea where you found a detective agency over here, the last
time I heard about it was in a Hollywood movie I think.

Do you think girls disappeared because of beeing scared? Phhrrr I
suppose they thought you were a crazy man, that's all.

I would think. I do not mind if someone asks for my name, address or other
things but it sounds.. say strange, in the context of "detective agency
activity". Heaven only knows what's in mind of this guy!

This type of actions also make think that the correspondent is too jealous by
nature or not enough self-confident, what is not good for healthy
relationship in my opinion. Try to imagine that someone is checking
you, would you like that?

I would definitely stop correspondence with a guy if I knew that he
was treating me like that. I am sure that a true relation should be
based on trust from the very beginning but not on
suspicions.

Take care,
Tatyana

David,

With the first 20 some thing correspondents, I used the straight forward approach. With the last five people, I used the double emails approach. Here is an additional piece of information: Elena19712 used pre-typed letters. I do not think that this person knows any English. On this morning (around 5:30AM EST), I received a letter from her. She send it to my regular account asking about my salary, monthly expense, and my life style. I answered all of them. At the end of the letter, I told her that I do not find there is a good match between her and me, and told her to discontinue any further communication with me. At noon time, she sent me another letter express her happiness to find me.
About this site, please do not put words in my mouth. My post clearly stated my experience with the people that I contacted. My post does have an advice to the people who are running this site.

Good night.

Paul

tann,

I was not sure if I need to reply to your post. You obviously have some types of behavioral problem. What is wrong with hiring an agency or a person with detective background to perform some detective work on a person. In America, we do it all the time in various forms. When a person applies for job, human resource department staff has duties of checking criminal, educational, and working experience background of the candidate. Don't they do it in your part of the world? If you have children, would you let a rapist to take care your children while you are not home? If you can afford the service and serious enough in finding the right person to commit a lifetime relationship, would you willing to spend whatever it cost to find the right person?
My advice to you is you need to change your attitude quickly. Otherwise, you will have problem later in life. If you cannot change yourself, seek help. Here is one last piece of information: check my profile. I already stated that I am no longer available. Guest what? I still receive contact email. So far, I had received two emails since I updated my profile. I turned them down completely. Natalia can you check my account and confirm this fact to her? If you do not mind, please remove my account completely. This will be my last time here since I am a busy person.

Good luck,

Paul

Hello!

This is a typical case of "trying a suit on", take it off :) I didn't make any offensive statements about your personality, Paul, but you sound like I did. I am talking of a hypothetical correspondent and possible suggestions, these are two big differences.

On to the topic: you forget that America is America but Russia is Russia and what is normal in your country is not always understable here. I just showed my opinion on the things, as I live here, that's all. If you think that I sounded incorrectly, it's only your perception. There was just one little breadth in my message when I called you a legendary Sherlock Holmes but I hoped you had a bit sense of humour.

Oh, thanks for your advice and forecast but not sure that you addressed that to the right person.

Take care,
Tatyana

I started this topic some time ago as I had known this problem was widely spread on the net, and our website would not be able to avoid it as well, as many golddiggers would use it in their materialistic purposes.
So, it is not surprising that it has been proved by time and this rather lively discussion between our members. At first I took position of the observant and had been keeping an eye on this discussion, but now I'd like to join it again.
On our side we do our best to take rather strict measures towards scam members. Starting our site we requested from our ladies direct phone numbers and contacted them for verifying their information. Although after that we got complaints from them with the statements that their phone numbers had been revealed to other people and they got calls from suspiscious people or even "maniacs". We also tried to take from them their passport information but we have no right to reveal it to other parts. That is why the only effective way to resist scam on the net and dating sites is blacklists and we also plan to add one on our web in the nearest future.
Back to the scam-members described above - we tried to get in contact with IDs 9207, 7712, 10440, 9711, 7045 but did not receive answers, we deleted these profiles off the website and blocked further access for these people. We consider it most expedient action on our side by now.
I'd like to emphasize once again that in order to make internet more fair place, clear it from scam and protect internet dating from bitter and negative exeriences, we should do all things together.
We always react to any complaints of our members, and do our best
check info and take relevant measures. Profiles that compromise themselves are sent to the blacklists immediately.

Anyone who can offer any alternative ways and methods to struggle scam on the net is welcome to share it either here, or getting directly to Admin, and we will try to adopt and make use of your advice.

I hope that this message will not be disregarded by all our members and we will unite our efforts.

Best regards to all,
New-Dating.com Admin,
Konstantin.

I think the safest way to go is: If they ask you for money, get lost, no matter how much you think they're in love with you. I have heard stories where guys have actually gone to the Ukraine to meet the beloved, obviously an employee, and she didn't remember key portions of their hot correspondence, but was working him to her advantage in her own home town, maybe on commissions from nightclub owners, restaurateurs, etc. like the "B" girls in Vietnam, some of them genuinely lovely people just working for a living any way they could.
The old saying is: "A fool and his money are soon parted". Unless you are willing to kiss it goodbye, don't send money. Let her old mother die of whatever rare disease she has to go to Moscow for. I had two nice girls tell me about their fathers wounded in Aghganistan. It could be, there were a lot of landmines there, but if they were lying it is a disgrace to the brave Russians who fought those terrorists.

The way I confirmed I was being scammed by a scammer was to enter their email address in a search engine - www.google.com in this case. I had my confirmation within seconds. I terminated contact with the woman.
When in doubt, try using google with their email address. Anyone that has scammed before will most likely appear in the search..

I put Julia's email address of md74@mail.ru in google. She came up as a scammer. The letters that were on the scam site were almost identical to the ones that she sent me with minor variations. The other red flag for me from the beginning is she wasn't willing to work through an agency. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Her story over 4 to 6 weeks didn't make sense. She had said her friend was moving to another city. She needed 500 dollars to buy a computer from her friend. Her friend was leaving in 3 days. I told her that I wouldn't pay that. My divorce left me with little money. She dropped the price to 250 dollars. 2 weeks later she kept trying to push for the money. She kept telling me she loved me. She wanted to have my children, etc. I finally entered her email address into google search engine. 5 seconds later. I had my answer.

My rule is never send any money to a women in an Internet dating situation. You wouldn't do it here with a woman in the USA. Why would you do it with someone that is so many miles away? If she's serious about getting to know you, She will find a way to communicate with you. If she can't communicate with you, Move on to the next one.

Do the internet cafes charge by the hour, or just every time you log on, or by the document? What is their fee structure?
